A good cocktail is a perfect blend of disparate parts. Likewise, Portland’s dynamic drink culture is based on different tastes, talents, decor and decorum.
To toast the liquid league mentioned in the Imbibe 75 issue, the swank antler club has a mash-up on tap Wednesday guaranteed to deliver the best buzz of the year.
Craft beer “powerhouse” Rising Tide, the “ultra cool” Bunker Brewing, the “excellent” and “most interesting” Tandem Coffee Roasters and Speckled Ax gather to stir up a storm at the Nordic ski club that has been “setting a new standard for Portland cocktails.”
“The goal for us is community building,” said owner Andrew Volk, who will whip up coffee and beer libations made with these scene stealers to toast the accolades.
“It’s beneficial for all of us to be doing well and get recognized,” says the mad mix man who tended bar in the other Portland, where Imbibe is published. “It gets everybody more excited.”
What to expect? Caffeine cocktails made with Tandem and Matt’s Wood-Roasted Organic coffees severed hot or cold and laced with bracing spirits. Yes please!
