Live from L.L. Bean

Might feel like November, but leave it to L.L. Bean to get us dreaming of the great outdoors again. This time summer, music and lawn chairs. The company’s Summer in the Park series was just announced and is reason enough to brave Route 1 traffic come July.

Staring on the 4th, Toad The Wet Sprocket (“We spotted the ocean,”) comes to Discovery Park in the heart of shopping central. Forgot bug spray?  Shorts? No worries. Hit the mother ship, open 24/7, for supplies. They’ve got that, plus a pith helmet that also makes great fries.

On July 12  sensitive crooner Josh Ritter comes to town with the Royal City Band. Many more acts are TBA. But hound lovers should fast forward to August 23 when the Dog Days of Summer unleashes a canine carnival for four-legged friends.

The plush park on the Bean main campus is also your HQ for the Freeport Farmers Market, begining June 13.

Goodbye rocking Christmas Tree, hello the sounds of summer.
