Alanis Morissette plays Maine State Pier

Four time Grammy winner Alanis Morissette comes to Maine State Pier Aug. 23. Tickets go on sale Friday for the singer’s Portland performance. The firebrand who tore up radiowaves in the 90s, delivers an acoustic and “intimate” show.

Can you get intimate with those powerhouse vocals?

People on Peaks Island will find this ironic when her voice blasts across the bay. Dontcha think?

Though her breakthrough album “Jagged Little Pill” came out almost 20 years ago, Morissette continues to keep it real with new material. Her newest album “Havoc and Bright Lights” was released in 2012.

The Canadian export remains as hot as poutine. As far as pop princesses go, she reigns supreme. Her 1995 album (“Jagged”) is the best-selling debut release by a female artist in the U.S. and is also the highest selling debut worldwide in music history.

Tickets, $36.75 to $61.75, go on sale Friday. You, you, you oughta know where to get em: ticketmaster.
