Kathleen Pierce fell for newspapers at a young age.. When her picture was emblazoned on the front page of her hometown page, she was hooked.
She began as a sales rep for a string of weeklies, but soon realized that the ink-stained wretches in the newsroom were having more fun.
After a year as a barista in Manhattan, she returned to Boston armed with an urgent desire to tell the stories of the street. She earned a master’s degree in Journalism from Northeastern University.
With a diverse background reporting on crime, schools, and the ins and outs of small town shenanigans for papers across New England, she went on to become a lifestyle editor and food blogger for The Lowell Sun.
A former regular contributor to the Boston Globe, she moved to Maine in the spring of 2013 to join the BDN staff.
Based in Greater Portland, she unearths dynamic stories that straddle culture, business, people and trends.
